Zinc alloy has a low melting point, good fluidity, easy plastic processing, corrosion resistance in the atmosphere, and easy recycling of residues for remelting; however, zinc alloy has low creep strength and is susceptible to dimensional changes due to natural aging. Therefore, zinc is used in a large number of zinc door locks.

What are zinc door locks?

zinc door locks are mechanisms designed to attach openings to their frames using latches, solid cylinders, bolts or other forms of solid metal plungers that extend into the latch. They are metal devices that prevent access or access for privacy, security or safety reasons. The locking mechanism holds or moves the latch, bolt, or release buckle out of or into the locked position.

The term lock is used to describe any type of device that is attached as an additional security measure, including a long list of padlocks, combination locks, door locks, latches, restraining bolts, electric locks, and keyed locks. The lock mechanism is the internal structure of the lock, which can be protected, pin-operated bolt, spindle, or disc-operated bolt. Locking mechanisms can be key-operated, combination or electric.

Before modern times, all zinc door locks were mechanical, using levers, wheels, gears and cams. In the last hundred years, locks have become very sophisticated, with programming, electronic mechanisms and various forms of automatic locking methods.

When was the invention of zinc door locks?

zinc door locks have been used since ancient times to secure doors against thieves. Locks are mentioned several times in the Old Testament, and the first archaeological evidence of locks is about 4,000 years old. These are the Egyptian locks depicted in the pyramids. These earliest locks belong to a type known as sling locks, and they are actually not very different from the ordinary door locks used today. Egyptian locks consisted of a heavy wooden casing mounted on the door. A wooden bolt was passed through the lock and held in place by an iron pin that fell into a slot and held it firmly in place. The key is a straight piece of wood with a nail sticking out of the end of the wood. When the key is inserted and pushed upward, the nail on the key lifts the pin in the lock and the bolt is released.

How are zinc door locks produced?

All types of locks have a similar function: to get things in and out. They are designed, formed and configured specifically to meet the needs of the application and are carefully installed to ensure smooth operation and efficiency. The materials used to produce the lock determine whether the lock is low or high security.

zinc door locks designed for specific purposes begin with an understanding of the application in which they will be placed. They are made of high quality zinc to ensure security and a perfect fit. Unlike locks purchased at the local home improvement store, high-security locks need to meet a set of established criteria and be able to operate under the harshest conditions.
